
1. The Red Sea

The Red Sea is considered to be one of the seven wonders of the underwater world that also contains one of the world’s hottest and saltiest seawater. In addition, it is one of the first bodies of water mentioned in recorded history
The reef is roughly 1,200 miles long that has lived for over 5,000 years. A home to over 300 coral species such as the Acropora humilis and the Acropora valida.
2. Cakaulevu Reef

Cakaulevu Reef also known as the Great Sea Reef is located in the northern shore of the island Vanua Levu in Fiji. It is the third longest continuous barrier reef after the Barrier reef in Australia and the Mesoamerican Reef off Central America. The Great Sea Reef carries a diverse marine population such as coral species in many vibrant colors. Within it, it has 12 threatened species such as the green turtle, the spinner dolphin and many other fish species.
3. New Caledonia Barrier Reef

New Caledonia Barrier Reef located in the South Pacific of the northeast coast of Australia is the second largest double barrier reefs in the world. The double barrier reef is a home to a variety of marine life with over 1,000 fish species documented to capture many people’s eyes. Though this is known to be one of the most stunning, it is one that is under threats due to many man made causes.
4. Rainbow Reef

Located in-between the second and third largest islands of Fiji. The Rainbow Reef lies in as to be one of the most beautiful as it features a variety of vibrant colored species, such as colorful butterfly fishes and tangs. In it there are of roughly 1,200 types of fish species. Also there is the Great White Wall named for the white coral that stretches between 49-213 ft; which is a popular scuba diving site.
5. Apo Reef

The Apo Reef, located in the South China Sea. It is the second longest continuous reef on the planet, that consists of 2 isolated reefs that’s disconnected by 30 meter channel. What lies beneath are a variety of corals in an array of blues and pinks that bring many fish species and turtles. With the white sand, colorful corals and blue waters it is a one of the best dive spots. The Apo Reef is also in a National Park status to be protected from any undo harm.
6. Palancar Reef

Located in the coast of the island Cozumel in Mexico, the Palancar Reef thrives as being a popular spot for divers despite the smaller size. The reef shows a variety of colors in corals as well as being a home to an array of marine life, like seahorses, squirrel fish and many others.
7. The Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef located of the coast of Queensland, Australians to date one of the most beautiful reefs in the world which happens to be the largest one on Earth. (for comparison, it can be spotted from space) To a home of over 3,000 reef systems as well as over 400 types of coral, and a variety of marine life. The Great Barrier Reef is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. With featuring pristine beaches is has become a spot for tourists all around. But due to the mass global problem triggered by climate, the reef has been gradually diminishing.
8. Belize Barrier Reef

The Belize Barrier reef locates in the coast of Belize that covers a section of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, it is the largest of the northern hemisphere. Considering that is contains over 100 of coral species and over 500 marine life, it has been a top tourist destination for scuba diving and snorkeling.
9. The Maldives

The Maldives Reef is made up of 1,200 islands that features a landscape of corals from an array of colors. There is also an amazing diversity of sealife that ranges from colorful fish, to reef sharks, stingrays and also a home to the whale shark.
10. The Hawaiian Coral Reef

In the Hawaiian Islands lies the Hawaiiann Coral Reef that features over 500 species of algae and a variety of marine life, including the Humuhumunukunukuapua’a, a triggerfish that is the state fish of Hawaii. Also of the marine life, a quarter of them can only be found in the Hawaiian Coral Reef. Hawaiian coral reefs account for about 85 percent of all coral reefs in the United States.
